Torrence Aims to Go Big at ‘The Big Go’
Steve Torrence Eyes Fourth NHRA Win at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway
Reigning Top Fuel champ to face tough competition at fan-favorite event
MADISON, Ill. – Four-time NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series Top Fuel champion Steve Torrence is aiming to go big at "The Big Go" this weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway.
Torrence, who drives the Capco Contractors dragster, has won three times at the fan-favorite event, including last year's race. He is tied with Larry Dixon for the most Top Fuel victories at Gateway.
Torrence will face a tough field of competitors this weekend, including 2022 NHRA Top Fuel Rookie of the Year Austin Prock and two-time world champion Brittany Force.
But Torrence is confident in his team's ability to get the job done. "We're excited to be back at Gateway," Torrence said. "It's a great track and we've had a lot of success here. We're going to give it our all to get another win."
The NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series will be at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway from July 29-31.
